March 17, 2008 I have submitted my Declaration for Nomination with the Montana Secretary of State along with my required filing fee.
The reason for filing is symbolic. I believe that as citizens we should contribute to our country in the best way we can. This is my contribution to society. I believe I have the talent to help steer the country in a different direction. My expertise in fiscal management is greatly needed at this point in our country’s history. I know the issues.
I live and work with them every day as a certified public accountant.
The answers to this country’s challenges are simple. The solution is not in government programs or with the large multinational companies, it is with the common people. I truly believe that if the government provides an atmosphere that allows the people to use whatever talents they possess as individuals, our country will benefit as a whole.
I will not be a career politician. If I do get elected, I will serve a maximum of two terms and then pass the baton on to another citizen who can use their talents to contribute to this country; which is as it should be.
This is truly a David and Goliath tale. I will conduct a grassroots campaign. I hope to become Montana’s first female senator and offer what talents I have to help the citizens to the best of my ability.
